I'm having a bit of a headache with file transfers since my Samsung Galaxy A15 updated to Android 16 and One UI 8. Previously, I could easily connect my phone via USB and a menu would pop up allowing me to select 'allow file transfer.' Now, the update has complicated things with a new menu that offers several connection options. However, nothing seems to be working! The top of the menu says 'USB controlled by' with 'This device' selected, but switching to 'Connected device' fails with a 'Couldn't switch' error. I've tried all the options available (like charging only, transfer images, etc.), but I just get a 'loading cancelled' message when I try to access my phone's file system on my desktop. I'm using Arch Linux with KDE Plasma and Dolphin. Any advice on how to resolve this?

I have the same phone, and after the update, I had the same issue. But I found that changing the USB settings to 'Transferring files/Android Auto' worked fine for me on Nautilus. Maybe you could try that?
I’m using a Z Fold 4 and had trouble too—switching to those settings fixed my issues on Fedora KDE with Dolphin.
I've been using KDE Connect for file transfers lately and it's way easier than dealing with USB connections. Honestly, plugging in via USB has always been tricky, and it feels like every Samsung update just complicates things more. Give KDE Connect a try!
Thanks for the tip! KDE Connect works great for me too.
I recently updated One UI as well, and it changed how file transfers work. However, I managed to connect without issues on my LMDE7. I'd suggest checking your system logs using journalctl for any errors. You could also look into Android File Transfer; it should be in the repositories and might help you out!

So it seems like it might be a compatibility issue with Dolphin then.
