Hey everyone! I'm reaching out for some help with a frustrating issue I'm facing after upgrading my GPU. I recently bought a used 4070 Ti Super to replace my 2080 Ti, but ever since, I've been hitting roadblocks. My speakers are producing a static sound, and it feels like my computer is lagging like it's from the early 2010s. Gaming performance has also taken a hit, with power usage not exceeding 80-90 watts and frequent crashes upon startup. Interestingly, using the integrated graphics on my motherboard is smoother than using this new GPU.
Here are my specs: Ryzen 7600X, Gigabyte B650I Aorus Ultra, Cooler Master V850 Gold, TeamGroup T-Create 7200 Mhz CL34 32 GB RAM, and a Lian Li Q58 case.
I've confirmed the GPU works perfectly in my friend's setup, so I suspect something might be off in my system. I've done a bunch of troubleshooting, including:
1. Clean installing all drivers with DDU in safe mode.
2. Installing a second copy of Windows on an SSD in case my current installation was causing issues.
3. Resetting my BIOS to the manufacturer defaults.
4. Using a dedicated 12vhpwr connector with the PSU, no adapters.
5. Ensuring all cables are snug and properly connected.
I'm currently checking BIOS settings but would appreciate any advice or suggestions you might have! I'm starting to worry I might be overlooking something small but significant. Thanks for any help!

If your GPU works perfectly in your friend's build, your PSU might be the culprit. Since it only pulls about 80 watts, it's possible that the power delivery isn't sufficient. Make sure to do a full clean of the drivers with DDU if you haven't already, but I'd lean towards the PSU being an issue if you've switched to a new one and still see no improvement.
This could be a compatibility issue with your motherboard. I've seen similar problems reported when upgrading to certain GPUs. Have you checked for BIOS updates? Sometimes a simple update can help with hardware compatibility.
It sounds like there might be an issue with the GPU. Since your 2080 Ti works fine, the 4070 Ti Super could be faulty. Have you run any benchmarks on it? Sometimes, cards can be sold that look fine but are damaged. It's something to consider, especially since you mentioned it works in your friend's PC.
I checked it on GPU-Z, and it recognized the card as a 4070 Ti Super, so it seems legit. It just doesn't perform well in my setup.
I did a full clean reinstall of the drivers and even upgraded to a Cooler Master V850 recently. The PSU shouldn't be the issue, but I'm starting to think I've tried everything.
