Hey everyone! I'm pretty clueless when it comes to tech stuff, but I've been playing a lot of mobile games lately. I've noticed that for the past few days, a tab keeps popping up automatically in Chrome. I know it's probably a scam and I'm avoiding clicking any links, but I really want to figure out how to stop it from happening. It mostly seems to appear when I'm playing games. I've also run a scan using the Play Store, but nothing came up. Any advice would be appreciated!

It's pretty common for mobile games to open ads like that, but it shouldn't be harmful. Just make sure you're not clicking on anything you don't trust!
I recommend trying the Brave browser. It's great for blocking ads and pop-ups, especially on mobile. If you'd prefer not to install another browser, you could go with an AdGuard DNS filter. Just look it up and follow the steps based on your device. It's pretty low-key and works well!
Wow, thanks! I'll give that a shot.
It sounds like the games you're playing might be loading ads that trigger those pop-ups. It could be that you've allowed certain permissions in those games. You should double-check those in your settings!
Yeah, I think I've removed most of the permissions, but maybe I'm missing something?

By common, you mean it’s usually safe?
