I just booted up my laptop and was met with that annoying blue BitLocker recovery screen. I tried everything: signed into my Outlook account, but my old phone number was a hassle to update. Finally, I managed to get a recovery key, but now I can't access my Microsoft account because of that number change! I'm really frustrated and don't want to wait 30 days for another round of this complicated process. What exactly can I skip if I bypass the drive? Is there an easier way to sort this out? I just want to get back to playing Deltarune!

To actually bypass the issue, check if you can access Windows normally or via Safe Mode. If you can, head to C:WindowsMinidump to see if there are any crash dump files there. You can zip any folder you find and upload it to a file-sharing site. It’s super useful for figuring out what went wrong.
You could disable BitLocker, but keep in mind it's not really recommended for laptops since it protects your data if it gets stolen. If you're okay with that and there's nothing crucial on your laptop, just press the Windows key, type ‘manage BitLocker,’ and turn it off.
If it's giving you recovery issues, it's a sign something's off. Make sure to back up your data and also monitor your hard drive; could be signs of bigger problems.
Honestly, if BitLocker is causing this much trouble and you're not hiding top-secret files, just disable it. Especially on the Home edition, it doesn't offer robust protection, mostly just encrypts your account.
