I'm really struggling with two iPads due to Apple ID problems. My son had an iPad Air that I couldn't update, download apps, or change settings on because of an Apple ID issue. He used it fine until he changed his passcode and forgot it, which locked him out. So, we got him a new iPad Air with a new Apple ID, linked to my parent Apple ID for storage. It was working well initially, but now when he tries to download an app, the old Apple ID has appeared again! We can't sign in, sign out, or do anything with the new iPad. I'm in full control of all the Apple IDs and related accounts. I've tried to reach Apple Support but can't seem to get help for this specific problem. I just want to reset both iPads if needed and get the apps back. Any advice would really help!

You should try deleting the app and then reinstalling it under the new Apple ID. Check in the App Store to see which account it's logged in under. If you didn’t set any restrictions, you could try signing out of the new ID and see if you can log back into the old one. That's the only option I can think of right now.
If you’re in the US, you can call Apple Support at 1-800-275-2273. If you're outside the US, you can find the right number on the Apple Support website under 'Support by Phone'. They might be able to help you with this issue directly.

I didn’t set any restrictions either, but it's saying that I can’t sign out because it’s restricted. All the sign-out options are greyed out and I’m unable to change the Apple ID.
