Hey everyone, I'm having a tough time with my Debian testing installation. I set things up about a month ago, installing a ton of software to get everything running smoothly. However, I made a big mistake by using btrfs instead of ext4 for my file system. It worked fine until recently when I hibernated my computer. After waking it up, I started getting error messages and ended up in the initramfs fallback. I tried several recovery methods like scrub, bad superblock recovery, and check, but nothing has worked. My drive health seems fine according to SMART tests, but now I can't access my essential notes on Joplin and I'm worried about losing them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like your hard drive might be having some issues, especially since you're facing recurring bad superblocks. While btrfs is pretty resilient, I'd recommend you prioritize recovering any important data from the drive before anything else. Check out the free guide from Diskinternals for some tips on using the built-in recovery tools. You'll want to have a backup drive ready because writing more data to the current one could make things worse. Good luck, and I hope you manage to get your files back!
I have to second what TechWhiz23 said about checking the drive. If everything shows as healthy, that's a good sign, but sometimes errors like these can be tricky. Bad superblocks seem to pop up most with hibernation from what you've mentioned. I'd suggest running some specific tests focused on hibernation issues, and keep trying those recovery methods. Don't hesitate to reach out if you need any more help!
