So, I've had a rough time lately because my Samsung phone got stolen by some moped thieves. Now, I'm trying to set everything up on my new phone, but I'm stuck when it comes to signing into my Microsoft account. The problem is that every time I try to log in, the sign-in requests and codes keep going to the Authenticator app on my stolen phone. When I try to enter my password, I get an error saying I've used the incorrect account or password too many times. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get past this?

When you see the message about the Authenticator app, look closely for a link that says something like 'Can't use my Authenticator app right now.' That should give you other options to verify your identity and could help you get back into your account!
Yeah, I found that! I clicked 'Can't use your Microsoft app' and it sent a one-time code to my email. But after entering that code, I just keep getting a 'session expired' message. Really bummed about losing my old backed-up photos.
