Hey everyone! I'm building my first PC and I'm in the market for a 1440p monitor. I've been using a MacBook for the last five years, so I'm not super experienced with monitors. I plan to do some gaming, but I'm not aiming for competitive play. My top priorities are picture quality and stunning graphics! I'm looking for a monitor that has great color, a resolution of 1440p, and a refresh rate of 144Hz or higher. Right now, I'm considering a few options: the Alienware AW2724DM, AOC Q27G3XMN, and ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACS. I'd really appreciate any thoughts or recommendations you have. Thanks!

For stunning graphics, go with the AOC. It supports HDR properly, which gives you the best visuals. Just a heads up, it's a VA panel, so you might notice some black smearing. The other two are excellent IPS monitors with no smearing, but their blacks won't be as deep as a VA.
If you're willing to spend a bit more, consider going for OLED monitors. They give incredible picture quality but come with a price tag of $600+. I'd avoid VA panels completely; stick with IPS or OLED for the best experience.
I'd recommend the AOC Q27G3XMN. It features Mini LED and HDR1000, which can really enhance your gaming and movie experience. The Alienware AW2724DM is a solid choice too, but the AOC tends to offer better visuals. The ASUS is the budget option but doesn't quite match up in picture quality.

AOC is actually a mini LED, so it’s pretty close to OLED among the monitors you're considering!
