I'm putting together an ultrawide gaming PC with an AMD 9800X3D CPU and an RTX 5080 GPU. I'm looking for advice on which motherboard and RAM to go with. Here are my options:

**Motherboards:**
1. ASUS Prime X870-P WiFi
2. MSI B850 Gaming Plus WiFi

**RAM Options:**
1. CORSAIR Vengeance DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30-36-36-76
2. CORSAIR Dominator Titanium RGB DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30

Since this build is strictly for gaming, will there be any noticeable performance differences between these RAM options? And for the motherboards, will I be missing out on any important features?

I’d say go for the MSI B850. It’s budget-friendly and the performance will be just as good. For the RAM, both options are practically identical in performance since they’re both 6000 CL30. You’re mainly paying for the looks with the Dominator, so it really comes down to whether you want some RGB bling or not.

The memory options you’re looking at will probably perform the same, as they seem to use the same chips. If you want to save money and don’t care about the aesthetics, just grab the Vengeance. As for the motherboards, the B850 and X870 are pretty similar in terms of performance too! The difference mainly comes down to features like extra ports and M.2 slots. If you don’t need those extras, the B850 should do just fine.

Honestly, you’re not going to miss out much performance-wise with a decent B650 motherboard compared to the X870. You might only get tiny gains in a couple of games. Just make sure you have enough USB ports and M.2 slots for your needs. The X870-P has a quick release for the PCIe slot, which might be handy if you change out GPUs often, but for most people, that’s not a huge deal. So think about how much that matters to you!
