Help! Dump File Creation is Failing on Multiple Machines

I've been facing a frustrating issue since May where multiple brand new HP laptops (like the ProBook 440 G10/G11 and Z2 G9) are not creating dump files after crashes. A user reported that their computer restarted overnight, and I checked the Event Viewer to find Event 161 stating, "Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation." I've set up alerts in NinjaOne to catch this event on new machines, and each time it triggers, no dump file is produced. I've updated the firmware, and even tried connecting devices directly instead of using docking stations, but the issue continues. Recently, I adjusted the Startup and Recovery settings to create a Complete Memory Dump and disabled the "Automatically Restart" option, but that hasn't helped either. Most of these machines are Entra Joined, and I've tried both the pre-installed base image and a Microsoft ISO via USB with no success. I'm at my wits' end here!

It might help to enable mini dumps. This can sometimes bypass issues with full dumps and still give you some useful crash information when problems occur.

Have you checked if the paging file size is adequate? A small paging file can prevent dump files from being created properly. You might want to make sure the page file on your System Drive is set up correctly too!
