Help! Error 0xc004e016 When Activating ESU Key on Windows 10

I've been having a tough time activating an ESU key on my Windows 10 Pro machine for over a week. Every time I try, I get the error message "Error: 0xC004E016 On a computer running Microsoft Windows non-core edition, run 'slui.exe 0x2a 0xC004E016' to display the error text."

I've already attempted several suggested fixes, including following the solutions found on various forums and the Microsoft documentation. I've run all the scan and repair tools I could find, yet the problem persists.

Additionally, my attempts to manually install Windows update packages have led to a new persistent error: 0xc1900101. I had ensured that the prerequisites for the ESU update KB5046613 were installed, but I'm still unable to get the November updates installed.

I'm out of options and really need advice. The machine is licensed properly and has enough storage, so I'm stumped. Has anyone else experienced this issue? All my other machines accepted the key without any problems. Could this be a sign that there's some kind of illicit version of Windows on this machine?

Have you tried running the command 'slui.exe 0x2a 0xC004E016'? It might give you a more detailed error message that could help diagnose the issue. The last time I ran it, I actually got a solid response instead of the usual generic error. So it's worth a shot!

Based on what you've described, it sounds like your activation might not be going through because it could think your product key is invalid. Maybe try reaching out to Microsoft Support directly via their support page, they might be able to clarify what's going wrong with your key. Don't lose hope just yet!
