I recently built my gaming PC using an RX 7600 graphics card and a Ryzen 5 5500 processor, but I'm facing some issues with unexpectedly low FPS. In Valorant, I'm only hitting around 150 FPS, and in Dota 2, my FPS varies between 90 to 120 at 1080p resolution. I've tried changing the graphics settings, but it hasn't made much difference.
I was expecting much better performance since I've seen benchmarks on YouTube where similar setups hit over 200 FPS in Valorant on medium settings. I'd really like to boost my FPS to around 180+ to take full advantage of my 180 Hz monitor.
Interestingly, I'm getting around 120 FPS in Minecraft with shaders, which is surprising. Any tips or suggestions would be really helpful!

If possible, consider returning the 5500 and upgrading to the 5600. It has double the L3 cache, which will significantly help with gaming performance, especially in titles like Dota 2.
It might help if you provide details about your entire system setup and how you installed everything. That way, we can diagnose the issue better and see if there’s something missing or configured incorrectly.
Have you checked the speed and latency of your RAM? It’s possible that you need to enable XMP in the BIOS for better performance. This can really help your system run more efficiently and could lead to a boost in FPS.
Your RX 7600 is limited by the PCIe 4.0 x8 interface, and the Ryzen 5 5500 isn't the best choice for gaming due to its architecture. You might be better off with an i3-12100F, which is a desktop CPU that supports more modern features, better performance, and offers better future upgrade paths. I’ve got 2x8 GB of 3200 MHz RAM, but XMP is currently disabled.
