I accidentally left my AirPods in the washing machine, and now they make squeaking noises when I try to check if they still work. Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix them?

If you don’t have AppleCare, I'd advise just getting a new pair. These things are designed to be pretty much unrepairable, and trying to open them can even be dangerous because of the battery and adhesive.

Just realized I have AppleCare+ so looks like I can get a replacement! Thanks for the heads-up!

Or you could always just throw a few hundred bucks at new ones!

As a small repair shop owner, I can tell you that Apple doesn't make it easy to repair their stuff. Honestly, you're probably better off just getting a new pair and seeing if you can get any trade-in value for the broken ones.

You could try using a desiccant to draw out moisture instead of putting them in rice, which isn't recommended. Leave them in for about a week and see if that helps, but it might not work.
