Help! I Can’t Reset My iPad Due to Screentime Passcode Issues

Hey everyone, I recently got a new iPad and wanted to reset my old one to give it to my mom. However, I'm stuck because it keeps asking me for a Screentime passcode that I don't remember setting. I've never used Screentime on this device. When I tried to remove the code, it prompted me for my Apple ID, but even after entering my correct details, it locks me out for a period of time. I'm really frustrated since I'm now locked out for an hour and don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

Ask your parents for help! They might have some insights or could help troubleshoot if they’ve used the iPad before.

You might want to turn off 'Find My' in your settings first, then try erasing the iPad using a computer. That could do the trick! If you don't have another Apple device, you can also use your new iPad to access iCloud and erase it from there.

Were you on a Child Account with that iPad? Sometimes those restrictions are set by parents for accounts that aren't fully adult. It's worth checking!
