I've been having issues with Google Chrome lately; it keeps redirecting to a weird site called nextgeeker instead of Google. I can't run Malwarebytes or any other malware removal tools since it seems the hijacker is blocking those programs. Windows Defender isn't much help either since it only shows 'Security at a glance' without letting me run a full scan.
I haven't downloaded anything suspicious and I don't use any extensions, so I'm really confused about what's happening. I wanted to uninstall Chrome and reinstall it to fix the issue, but it doesn't show up in my programs list, and even Revo Uninstaller can't find it. I'm at a loss here and desperate for help aside from resetting my entire computer. Any advice would be appreciated!

Have you tried downloading the Chrome installer again? Sometimes just installing it again can help you uninstall it properly. I've had luck with BCuninstaller; it's similar to Revo but lets the original uninstaller do its thing first before cleaning up. It's handy if you're okay with a bit of extra manual control, but I get it if you want something simpler!

That sounds a bit complex for me. I'm really looking for an easy solution. Is AVG antivirus any good for cleaning up viruses? I attempted to reinstall Chrome, but it wouldn't let me.
