I accidentally spilled about 20 ml of milk on my Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series laptop keyboard, mainly affecting the bottom left corner where the z, x, shift, ctrl, fn, windows, and a bit of the a and s keys are. After realizing what happened, I put the laptop upside down in an L position, resting the keyboard on the table and the laptop standing on my bed for 25 minutes. All keys were working fine before the spill, but now I'm really worried that the milk might have reached the motherboard. How long should I leave it upside down? Would putting it in a tent-like position help? Do I need to clean the keys afterward? Should I take it to a professional for an inspection? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

First off, don’t panic! Just keep the laptop upside down overnight and avoid turning it on for a bit longer. If you have a fan, point it at the keyboard to help it dry.
If you’re really concerned, consider taking it to a technician. It’s better to be safe than sorry, especially with a nice laptop.
Is opening the back panel essential, or can I just leave it be?
If it’s still working fine after a few hours, you might be okay. Most laptops can handle a little spill, but be cautious. Just try not to charge it until you’re sure it’s dry!
Should I wait longer before turning it on again then?
Thanks! I don’t have a fan; should I just leave it alone for now?
