Help! I Uninstalled My Nvidia Drivers and Now My Screen Is Blank

Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind and could really use your advice. I was trying to play Fortnite on my old Dell Inspiron 15 7000 gaming laptop, but it kept saying my Nvidia drivers were outdated. Not wanting to miss out on gaming, I decided to reinstall the drivers through the Nvidia app. However, I wasn't logged in since the laptop is second-hand, and I just couldn't get into my account.

Thinking I'd fix the issue, I uninstalled everything, but now I can't see anything on my screen at all! I tried pressing Ctrl+Shift+Windows+B to restart the graphics driver, but that didn't work either. I'm worried I've messed something up majorly. Is there any way to resolve this, or have I doomed my laptop? Thanks for any help!

Check out the manufacturer’s website for your laptop. You can probably find the model and download the necessary graphics/display drivers to a USB drive. If you can, connect an external display to see if you can boot up that way and install the drivers from there.

I’d suggest trying to reboot your laptop and see if it can pull up basic Windows display drivers. You don’t actually need to be logged into the Nvidia app to install any drivers, so don’t worry about that.

Looks like you removed the software that makes your display work! It might sound funny, but you're in a bit of a pickle. Don’t stress though; you’ll get it sorted out! Just make sure to check the BIOS settings. If it’s set to only use the discrete GPU, that could be why there's no output. Enable the integrated GPU, and you should be able to see something on your screen to install the drivers back again.

Exactly! The integrated GPU should help you get back in business. Once you boot up, you can reinstall those drivers easily.
