I'm experiencing an issue where every time I try to download something, I get an error message saying 'virus detected,' but I'm sure there's no virus on my computer. I've already restarted my PC, but the problem is still happening. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this?

It's possible that your antivirus program is detecting false positives. Try checking your antivirus settings to see if there’s an option to add exceptions for certain downloads. If the problem persists, you might want to consider temporarily disabling your antivirus while downloading, but be cautious with that.

Thanks! I’ll check the settings. Hopefully, that helps.

Just be careful! Make sure to re-enable your antivirus right after downloading.

What program is giving you the error message? If you could share a screenshot, that might help us narrow it down. Sometimes antivirus software can be overly sensitive and block safe downloads.

Here's a screenshot of the error I'm seeing: https://preview.redd.it/vt1ukolty9df1.png?width=953&format=png&auto=webp&s=d2b1d430c5bcfc6e53b144a98372d35d19c14b69. This is happening for everything I try to download.

I've been getting the same issue! It’s frustrating, especially when you need to download something important.
