I discovered a USB drive belonging to my dad that contains some old pictures from 2011. After he reviewed them, I noticed one specific picture now shows a date of 4/8/2025 at 1:30 P.M., which is confusing since he originally took it years before that. When I try to open the picture on my PC, the Photos app claims the file type isn't supported. I've attempted converting the file to different formats, including a PDF, but it still won't show up. The last thing I want is to lose this photo! I've got the original USB drive and I've also made copies of all the images to my computer, but it seems like I have two broken files now. I've tried various apps and websites to open it, but no luck. Interestingly, there's another file with the same date that also refuses to open and can't be copied to my PC either. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

First off, what file extension does the picture have? Knowing whether it's a .jpg, .png, or something else could help troubleshoot further.
It sounds like file corruption might be the issue. Try copying all the accessible files over to your computer, then perform a disk check on the USB drive. This can often fix minor errors; just search for 'disk check' in your PC settings. It's worth a shot!
