I recently restarted my computer because my Norton Anti-Virus software prompted me to do so for updates. Unfortunately, now my computer won't start up properly and I'm faced with a bunch of options, with the most extreme one suggesting a full reset. This is super frustrating! I've already moved and have been out of the loop for a while, so I was hit with a ton of updates when I booted up today. I really could use some advice on what steps I should take next to resolve this issue without losing everything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

First off, what kind of computer are you using? Is it a laptop or desktop? You mentioned seeing some error messages—any specifics on those? It really sounds like there might be an issue with your boot drive rather than just Norton itself.
I know a lot of folks stick with Norton out of habit, but have you considered switching to Windows' built-in antivirus or something like Malwarebytes? They tend to be more reliable. Plus, starting in safe mode could help you uninstall Norton if it’s causing issues. Might be worth a shot!
Honestly, before you dive into anything drastic like a PC reset, double check what exactly happens when you try starting it. That info can really help us narrow down the problem. Also, if you suspect malware, consider checking some malware removal guides—just in case!
I chose Norton because it’s a well-known name and I thought that would mean better protection. Guess that didn’t work out so well!
