Hey everyone! I'm diving into building my very first gaming PC, and I could really use your advice. I'm aiming for a setup that will primarily handle 1440p gaming, especially competitive titles like CS2, but I want it to be prepared for future games like GTA6 as well. I love the idea of a sleek all-white build and my budget is around €2500. I've put together a rough list of parts:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 4.7 GHz 8-Core
- Air Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 (planning to get a white one)
- Motherboard: ASRock B650 Steel Legend WiFi
- Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB DDR5-6000
- Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB NVMe SSD
- Video Card: Gigabyte AERO OC GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
- Case: NZXT H9 Flow ATX
- Power Supply: Corsair RM850e 850W (also getting a white one)
Totaling around €2440.
Here are a few questions I have: 1) What do you think about this build? 2) Should I go for an AIO cooler instead of air? I've only had experience with air-cooled systems. 3) Is it worth waiting a couple of months for price drops (especially with Prime Day in July coming up)? I'm super excited to get this PC! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just a warning: I had a bad experience with that ASRock motherboard. After a few months, it just stopped sending signals over 2400mhz. I switched to a Gigabyte one, and that solved all my problems.
Everything looks great, but seriously consider replacing that ASRock mobo. I've had some big issues with it, especially with a powerful CPU like the 9800X3D. It might just lead to headaches down the line.
Thanks for the warning! I had my eye on a different motherboard already.
You might get more bang for your buck by swapping out some parts. For example, consider switching to a white GPU like the 5080, and a few other components for better airflow. A couple of adjustments could save you money while improving performance without sacrificing style.
Just a heads up, the power supplies in that range can be a bit noisy, which is something to keep in mind!
Overall, your build looks solid! The only potential issue is with the ASRock motherboard. I've heard some concerns about stability issues with that model. You might want to check this thread for more details on it. For your gaming needs, with this setup, you should easily hit over 300 FPS in CS2 on max settings. Plus, it looks great for future games like GTA 6!
Thanks for the quick reply! I'll definitely look into those issues. Appreciate the heads-up!
While ATX is nice for space, I actually prefer smaller cases for ease of building. Just curious, why go for a black cooler if you're going for a white theme? Also, have you thought about a B850 board instead of the B650 for better future-proofing?
Size isn't a big deal for me since I have space to spare. As for the cooler, I couldn't find a white one available, but I'm ordering it soon! Thanks for the input!
Oh, you're the second person mentioning that! Thanks for letting me know; I’ll look for alternatives.
