I'm looking for some help building a new PC since my old one is about six years old and really struggling. I want to get new parts from Micro Center or other major tech retailers, but it's been a while since I did this and I'm kind of lost on what to choose. My goal is to put together a rig that will last and be upgradable for the next 5-10 years. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Check out these links for great build ideas! Here's a guide to an awesome AMD gaming rig: https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/jd2Ff7/great-amd-gaming-build. If you want specific parts, try this build list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nKVQ3w. There's another list here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DLXtxg – you can save some cash by swapping out the PSU. You should be able to keep your costs under $1500 with these!
I recommend holding off until next year if you can. The prices for RAM and storage are high right now, and buying at these rates isn’t a great long-term move. If you're focused on gaming, a GPU upgrade and maybe a new monitor along with some peripherals would be more impactful than an entirely new build right now. But if you really need to upgrade, you should share your desired resolution and refresh rate, plus what games you play. Just keep in mind that you might not get the best performance for the money spent, especially with the market being what it is.
I’m in the same boat! I need a PC for music production but also want to game on Fortnite. I'm leaning toward buying a MacBook Air since building a PC doesn’t add up with my current Xbox situation.

I get what you mean! My setup is unstable too, and I think it’s finally time for an upgrade since it's been six years. I'm dealing with an Asrock B450 Pro4 which limits compatibility—so I understand wanting to jump to something newer.
