Help Me Build a New PC on a $1000 Budget

I'm looking for advice on building a new PC with a budget of around $1000 CAD. I already have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super graphics card. Since RAM prices are quite high right now, I'm okay with getting 16GB of RAM for now and upgrading later. I've put some parts together on a PC part picker list, but I'm unsure how good or bad it is. Aesthetically, I'd love a white PC if possible, but I'm prioritizing performance over aesthetics. Ideally, I want a setup that can handle 1440p gaming well since I use an ultrawide monitor. Any help would be appreciated!

Hey! As a fellow Canadian, you might want to check out some local computer shops like Memory Express and Canada Computers for parts. They often have good deals and are reputable. For this build, consider this CPU and motherboard combo: an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X with the MSI B550M motherboard. If you want more performance and can stretch your budget a bit, look into getting an RX 6800 XT or something in that range for great 1440p performance. Check out this PCPartPicker list I created for some suggestions: [PCPartPicker Part List](https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/r6qwh9). Happy building!

Awesome recommendation! If I want to stick with NVIDIA, is there a comparable card around the same price?

What's your current setup? It might help to assess what exactly you need to upgrade. Just make sure the new components are compatible with each other!

Here's my current specs: Intel Core i7-10700F, GTX 1660 Super, 16GB DDR4, and a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD.

If you're open to spending less on storage, you could always go for a smaller SSD to cut costs. A decent option is a 480GB NVMe SSD; it won't break the bank, and it's way quicker than traditional HDDs. Plus, you'll still have your external SSD for extra space if needed.
