I'm currently using a GT 1030 and I'm looking to upgrade my GPU. I'm trying to decide between the RTX 3070 and the RX 6700 XT. I've got a Ryzen 5 5600 processor and a 700W power supply. I typically play games at 1080p or 1440p. Which GPU would be a better fit for my setup?

Honestly, I'd suggest the RX 6700 XT for the 12GB of VRAM. The 3070’s 8GB might not cut it for modern games at 1440p in a few years.

I've got a similar setup, and the 3070 performs great. Just be aware that you might experience some texture pop-ups in more demanding games occasionally.

Just a heads up, if you're coming from a GT 1030, make sure your PSU can handle the new card. The 700W should be fine, but just check to ensure it meets the requirements.

For value, consider the newer 5070 Ti if you can wait. But if you must choose between the two you mentioned, I'd still lean towards the 3070.

Not sure how the 5070 Ti relates here, but sticking to OP's question, the 3070 is probably the way to go.

I get the DLSS hype, but the 3070's 8GB of VRAM might be a limitation for 1440p gaming. If you can swing it, you should really consider squeezing in the 10GB 3080 for better performance in the long run.

The 3070 sounds good, especially with DLSS for some future-proofing. You might want to look into Lossless Scaling too; it can enhance graphics for AAA titles, though some tweaks are needed to minimize latency.

I'd go for the RTX 3070! It offers DLSS support which can really enhance performance and help extend the usability of the GPU over time. Plus, it’s a solid card for your setup.

Definitely! If your budget allows, keep an eye out for a used 3080 or 3080 Ti. Those cards can offer a noticeable upgrade for gaming, even now.

I hear you, but remember that the 3070 only has 8GB of VRAM. For 1440p, a 10GB 3080 would be a much better option.
