I'm considering switching from an Apex Pro TKL mechanical keyboard, which has an actuation point of just 0.1 mm, to a Bridge75 Plus that has a higher actuation point of about 1.6 to 2 mm. I'm looking for a keyboard that offers a comfortable typing experience while still performing well for gaming. My main concern is whether this change in actuation distance will put me at a disadvantage in gaming, especially since I've been using the Apex Pro for 4 years. Will this switch really affect my gaming performance?

Honestly, it may depend on your skill level. For most players, the difference in actuation won't really matter unless you’re playing at a super high level. The keyboard won't make you play worse, but you might feel different for a bit while you adjust.
From my experience, even on a Bluetooth ergonomic keyboard, I don’t really notice latency during gameplay. Sure, it might feel different at first due to the higher actuation point, but once you adjust, I doubt it’ll negatively affect your performance at all—unless you're playing super competitively.
Exactly! If you can deal with high ping, then a bit of actuation difference should be no problem!
Yes, technically it could affect your performance, but unless you're competing at a professional level, you probably won't notice a major difference. Even in casual competitive play, it likely won’t be a game-changer.
I play at a competitive level, so I understand your fears. Just give it some time to adjust. A few days in, you might surprise yourself with how quickly you get used to it.

I totally get that. I've used my old keyboard for years too, so it can feel weird switching. But you might just find your groove after a few days.
