Hey everyone! I'm in the process of selecting parts for my very first PC build, and I could really use some advice. I don't have anyone around to help me figure out if these components are good, so I would greatly appreciate any feedback, warnings, or tips you might have. Your list looks solid for gaming, but I'd suggest a couple of tweaks. If you're focused on gaming, the 5900 XT might be overkill for your needs. Consider the Intel 12600K paired with a DDR4 board; it offers great value right now since DDR5 components can be pretty pricey. As for your GPU, the 9070 XT is a better choice than the 5070. It’s not only cheaper, but it also performs better and uses less power. Just check your motherboard costs too; aim for something around $120 to avoid overspending. Oh, and I’d pass on the AIO water cooler unless you really want the look. A good air cooler can do the job just fine!
Thanks for the insight! I’m definitely looking for something that handles gaming well but is also future-proof. Could you explain what you mean by the motherboard being a 'dead end platform'? What should I be looking for in a good motherboard?
