Hey everyone! I picked up a refurbished MacBook Air 2018 a few months back, and overall it's been great. Recently, though, it starts shutting down unexpectedly. I'm mainly using it for light tasks like Lightroom, Photoshop, and PowerPoint while being careful not to overload it. Even when the battery is around 30%, it just powers off, and when I turn it back on, I find almost all the battery is gone. I ran a diagnostic, and it indicated a kernel panic, but I'm not sure what to do next. Any advice on troubleshooting this? Am I stuck with a lemon, or is there hope? Thanks a lot!

It might be a sign that your battery is aging. Check the battery capacity in your system settings under the battery section. If the battery can't provide enough voltage, that could lead to unexpected shutdowns. Although there could be other reasons behind it, the battery is usually the prime suspect.
Sounds like you've got a kernel panic issue, which can be tricky to diagnose sometimes. Since you mentioned it's a refurbished model, it might be worth reinstalling the OS to see if that helps fix the problem. Sometimes refurbished parts can cause these kinds of issues. Also, you might want to contact the seller to ask if they've had any known issues with the parts they used. If you need more suggestions, try searching "MacOS kernel panic fix" online for more troubleshooting tips.
I checked, and it just says 'battery health: normal.' The listing mentioned a battery replacement, but maybe it's still a bad battery?
