Help! My 5090 GPU Won’t Fit in My Case

I just acquired a 5090 GPU, but it seems like the fin is misaligned or too long to properly connect to my motherboard. I'm struggling to get it aligned to click it in place. Should I consider rearranging components, or is it feasible to trim down some of the fin or case? I've attached photos showing the situation on Imagechest since Imgur isn't working for me.

Some cases require a bit of finagling to get everything in place. I recommend checking if your case is compatible and maybe adjusting the motherboard placement a tad to see if that helps. What case are you using?

I'm using the NZXT H9 Midtower. I suspect some misalignment might be the issue. I’ll take another look at it tomorrow!

You might also try sanding down the holes in your case a bit to create some extra space. In some cases, shifting the motherboard can help align everything too!

Great suggestion! I didn’t consider moving the motherboard. I’ll research how to do that—thanks!

From what you're describing, it sounds like your GPU and motherboard connection points aren't lining up right. I had a similar issue where I had to slightly enlarge the holes for the GPU to fit. Just be careful not to damage your motherboard while doing this!

I see what you're saying, and that might actually work. I'll give it a go and see if I can modify those holes a bit. Thanks for the advice!
