Hey everyone! I recently swapped out my air cooler for an AIO Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro, but now my motherboard is showing a CPU error. Before switching, I also changed the CPU contact frame using a Thermal Grizzly frame. I got a little thermal paste on the edge of the CPU, which makes me worried that I may have damaged it. How serious is this issue? Here's a link to some images I took for reference: https://imgur.com/a/cE8TDj4.
Update: I figured out that the installation was wrong—my CPU is back up and running with the air cooler!

By the way, where's the contact frame in those pics? You might want to double-check that.
Make sure you haven’t overtightened the cooler. If you did, it might be worth reinstalling it and checking the pressure again!
Don’t stress too much—the thermal paste shouldn't hurt your CPU. I recommend reseating the CPU and remounting everything carefully. Most likely, it was just a mounting hiccup that caused the error.
Thanks! I did reinstall the air cooler, and it’s back to normal now. Definitely installed the AIO wrong initially!
It sounds like a mounting issue. I’d suggest trying to remount the cooler just to be sure everything's seated correctly. If that doesn’t help, you might want to remove the contact frame and try it on a different motherboard to rule out other problems. Good luck!
I bet it was just a pressure issue from the mounting!
I appreciate the advice! I did try the air cooler again, and it’s working perfectly now, so I’ll keep that in mind for the future.
I took off the cooler, switched back the contact frame, but I’m still seeing the CPU error on my board.
