Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a panic here. A few days ago, I noticed some strange activity on my accounts. It all started when one of my alternate Instagram accounts began posting explicit content and spammy links. I didn't think much of it at first since it wasn't important, but then my Discord started sending out malware links to my friends. I secured that account with a password change and added 2FA.
Next, I logged into Roblox, only to find a bunch of games I hadn't played in ages had items traded away from my account, even though I had 2FA set up! I found out there had been logins from a location in Russia. I managed to secure that account too. I thought I had everything under control until I got a notification that my Reddit account was banned because someone had also been posting there.
I've checked my email for unusual activity but didn't see anything alarming. I've set up 2FA on most accounts and logged out of all sessions, but I still feel uneasy. What other steps can I take to protect myself? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like a token logger or a similar malware might be the culprit. If you've been using the same password across multiple sites, that's likely a big vulnerability. You should definitely update your email's password and ensure it has 2FA enabled. Also, consider using an authenticator app for securing your accounts instead of relying solely on email 2FA. Lastly, a good password manager can help you create unique passwords for every account. Stay safe out there!
You should avoid clicking on any suspicious links and always be skeptical about what you download online. Changing passwords to something random instead of something memorable can help prevent easy access. Just stay vigilant and keep an eye on your accounts for any weird activity.
I recommend running a malware scan on your computer with something like Malwarebytes. It's possible that a 'game patch' or something similar could have compromised your system. After scanning, make sure all your passwords are strong and different for each account. Also, consider using hardware security keys for the highest level of protection.
I had a similar experience a while back. What really helped was creating a new email account and transferring all my account logins to that one. This way, if your old email was compromised, you can start fresh with new logins. Just remember to secure that new email well!
Thanks for the tips! I've changed my passwords to unique ones and set up Google Authenticator for 2FA on most of my accounts now.
