Help! My Azure VM with Server 2016 is stuck in a reboot loop after updates

Hey everyone! I'm dealing with a frustrating issue here. We're running an RDS farm in Azure, and while most of our servers handled the latest updates without a hitch, our RDS Broker is now stuck in a continuous reboot loop. We've rolled it back to a previous backup, but whenever we try to update again, the problem just pops back up. Unfortunately, we can't access it to check the logs since we don't have Bastion set up. The updates that are causing the trouble are related to the servicing stack and cumulative updates for September 2025. I'm considering switching the VM's hardware type from Bseries to Dseries, but I'm not sure if that would even help. Any ideas on how to resolve this? Thanks!

Sounds like a bad update to me! If the problem keeps coming back after rolling back, you could try installing those updates one by one to figure out which one’s causing the issue. Just beware, switching to a different VM SKU probably won’t help anything.

I get that it's weird, especially since you have 5 similar servers and only one is acting up. It might be tough to apply the updates individually, but if you can figure out the culprit, it could help avoid future headaches.
