I've been dealing with a recurring issue with BitLocker on my computer. It started small, but now it's becoming a real hassle. Today, after I turned my computer on, I was hit with the BitLocker recovery screen. I entered the recovery key that I had noted down, but this happened about 8 or 9 times before I could finally log back in. What's worse, my computer had reset itself! Chrome wasn't my default browser, and I wasn't signed in to any of my accounts. I suspect someone is shutting it down as a prank, but today BitLocker only asked me for the key once. After getting back on, I noticed that all my files are gone. I'm feeling really lost and don't know what steps to take next. Any advice would be hugely appreciated! 😢

If you're only seeing the BitLocker recovery screen and it seems like you're logged into a default profile, that could indicate a failing hard drive. Keep an eye on it; you might need to look into data recovery options soon.
It sounds like your user profile might be corrupted, which can cause Windows to log you in with a temporary profile. Try checking C:Users for any folders labeled temp or tmp. Alternatively, you can open a command prompt and type `SET USERPROFILE` to check your profile directory. If it directs you to a temporary profile, be aware that any changes won’t be saved after logout. Fixing a corrupted profile can be tricky; often, creating a new account and transferring your files is a way to fix it. And hey, good job on knowing your BitLocker key, that can save a lot of headaches!
Seriously, who would even shut down a PC as a prank? That’s just messed up! I hope you find a solution soon.
Exactly! Losing data when the key isn't known is a nightmare. Definitely back up your key if you haven’t already.
