I'm totally baffled by this issue. My computer is showing a 'Boot Device Not Found' message, and I have no idea how or why this happened. I've tried searching for solutions online, but nothing has worked. Can anyone help me figure this out?

You really need to provide some details about your setup. Here are some common issues:
1. The cables to the boot drive could be unplugged—this happens often if you’ve jostled the machine.
2. Your BIOS settings might be off, especially if your system was reset. Enter the BIOS by pressing DEL or F2 during boot-up and check if your boot drive is set up correctly.
3. Unfortunately, it might also be that your boot drive has failed. If that’s the case, you’ll have to replace it and reinstall Windows.

Just to clarify, I'm using an HP EliteBook 840 G1 with Windows 10.

Is this your first time booting the computer? If Windows is already installed, it’s worth checking if any recent changes could have messed with your BIOS settings or if an update went wrong, like upgrading to Windows 11 unintentionally.

First things first, check if your boot drive is still recognized in the BIOS. Sometimes cables can get loose, especially if you’ve recently moved your system. If it isn’t showing up, you might need to reconnect it. If the drive is gone completely, it might have just failed and could require a replacement along with a fresh OS install.
