Help! My Computer Won’t Boot After Removing RAM

I recently decided to tinker with my old family PC, which I haven't used in a while since I mainly use my gaming rig. I removed one of the two 4GB RAM sticks to see if it would still work, and it booted up fine. Feeling accomplished, I left the removed RAM stick on the PC overnight while it was unplugged. The next morning, I put the RAM stick back in, but when I tried to boot it up, I heard three beeps and the fans went crazy. I shut it down again and took out the problematic RAM. This time it booted to the Windows screen, but then I saw a weird, buggy display with rainbow squares and ended up getting a BSOD with the error KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. I really need some assistance with this issue, so I appreciate any help!

Honestly, it sounds like a classic case of hardware mishaps. Whenever you mess with RAM or any components, it can sometimes lead to issues if they aren't seated properly or if there's a fault with the hardware. What was your reason for taking out the RAM? Sometimes, even a second-hand stick can cause instability if it’s faulty.

First off, you might want to check for any dump files generated by the BSOD. If you manage to boot into Windows (or Safe Mode), go to C:WindowsMinidump and see if there are any files there. You can zip those files and upload them to a file-sharing site like MediaFire or Catbox. Multiple dump files can give a clearer picture of what went wrong. Plus, it’s a good idea to set up your system to create Small Memory Dumps for easier troubleshooting in the future!
