I'm facing an issue with my laptop that won't power on after it overheated while charging. I tried turning it on while plugged in, and I've been holding down the battery button, but nothing seems to work. Can anyone suggest what steps I should take?

First things first, let it cool down for a bit and then try to boot it up again. If it still won't turn on, you might want to disconnect the battery and plug in the charger instead. This could help get it running until you can replace the battery if that's the issue.

It's cooled down for now, but it still won’t turn on.

Got it, hopefully, it works once it's cooled!

Here's a tip: unplug your laptop and if the battery is removable, take it out. If not, just leave it in there. Then, hold down the power button for about 30 seconds—yes, it feels long! After that, plug everything back in and try to power it on again.

How do I actually take the battery out? I have a Dell Latitude.
