I woke up to find that all of my desktop icons just vanished after I turned on my PC. Everything was perfectly fine just two hours ago, and I didn't change any settings or install anything new. Now, aside from the ChatGPT and TV icon, my whole desktop is bare. I've checked, and the 'show desktop icons' setting is enabled. Is there any way to restore my icons without having to manually replace every single one? I have around 2000 files on my desktop, and I'm really frustrated. Any advice on why this happened would be appreciated too!

Before you panic, have you tried simply rebooting your computer? Sometimes a restart can work wonders. Also, did you recently install or uninstall anything? If there are changes in your Event Manager, that could be a clue too.
I feel you! I once faced a similar issue. It could be a graphical glitch. Try right-clicking on the desktop, select 'Refresh', and see if that brings your icons back. If not, check your display settings, just in case something got messed up. Good luck!
This might sound silly, but have you checked your desktop organization settings? Sometimes this can happen if the system changes display resolution. If nothing works, you could also try creating a new user account and see if the icons show up there. It might just reset things for you without much hassle.

I restarted multiple times and didn't install or change anything. I always see a lot of errors in my event log though, not sure if that's normal.
