Help! My Dual Screen Setup Disappeared After a Crash

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a jam here and could really use some help. I was playing Valheim when my computer crashed completely, and I had to force it off using the power switch. After rebooting, I was hit with a Windows update. Now, while my first screen is working fine, all my desktop icons have shifted there, and my second screen seems completely unresponsive. Also, the color settings reverted to default.

Here's what I've already tried: I went to settings to detect additional screens, but nothing showed up. I used AMD Adrenalin to check for driver updates and even reinstalled it with the latest drivers, but that didn't help either. I made sure my system was updated (none available), and I've messed around unplugging and replugging the HDMI cables, testing different configurations, but still, the second screen just won't register.

For reference, my setup includes:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT
- Screen 1: Samsung C27F390
- Screen 2: ASUS VG249

I'm really at a loss here and would appreciate any insights. Thanks in advance!

You might want to try fully powering down your PC and switching off the power supply. After that, hold down the power button for a few seconds to drain any remaining power. Wait a few minutes before turning it back on. It’s also a good idea to check all internal power connections, especially between the PSU and the GPU. If the problem persists, consider reseating your GPU in its PCIe slot. Additionally, running DDU to remove the GPU drivers and then reinstalling the latest version might help. Don't forget about resetting the BIOS or even updating it if necessary.

I faced a similar problem, and what worked for me was rolling back my graphics drivers one version. Sometimes the latest drivers can cause compatibility issues, and reverting one version back might just bring your screen back to life.

You should really give DDU a shot to clean all the display drivers and then reinstall them fresh. It's been a lifesaver for similar issues I've encountered.
