I just upgraded to a new 5070 Ti GPU, and I'm really pumped about it! Currently, my setup includes a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, 32GB DDR4 RAM (which consists of two 8GB sticks and one 16GB stick), and I was using an RTX 3070 with 8GB VRAM. I've got a 750-watt gold power supply and an air cooler that works fine for now. I'm considering an Asus TUF B560 or B650 motherboard. I've heard the GPU swap is pretty straightforward with just a few screws and a pin adapter. Is that accurate? Also, how much of a performance boost should I expect? Right now, I play Battlefield 6 on low settings at 1660p and get around 70 to 80 fps. I'm just looking to get more frames and better settings, considering I spent $800 on the upgrade. Will my setup bottleneck, and what can I do to maximize this new GPU's performance?

Congrats on the upgrade! The 5070 Ti should be a significant step up from the 3070, and you’ll likely hit high or ultra settings at 1440p with much better fps. No worries about bottlenecking with the 5700X3D; it's a solid match. The swap is super easy: just unscrew the old card, unplug the power, pop in the new one, and reconnect power. Just be sure your PSU has the right connectors for the 5070 Ti; 750 watts should be fine, but double-check those specs!
I just made the switch to a 5070 Ti too, and I'm loving it! I moved from a 3080, so I also experienced a nice boost. My advice is to keep an eye on your power supply as well. I upgraded mine to a 1000-watt model to avoid using an adapter, and it’s been smooth sailing. You’ll need to update your drivers, but other than that, you should be good to go.

Why didn't you want to use an adapter? Also, do you play Battlefield 6? How’s the performance for you?
