My father-in-law, who is elderly, is stuck with his Apple account and iPhone. We managed to find a password that lets us through the account login, but it still says the account is locked. I've tried to recover it using both his phone number and email, but although I received confirmation that someone from Apple would call back, it never happened. This has been dragging on for weeks now, and I'm really unsure about the next steps. Does anyone know a better way to reach Apple support or get a reply?

I agree with TechieTommy89. The online process is the route Apple wants you to take for account issues. Just be patient with it, even though it feels frustrating, and keep an eye out for any updates from them.
If the Apple Store isn't helping, definitely check out their online support. They guide you through the recovery process, but they can't unlock the account or speed anything up. Every call or email usually just points you back to the same online steps you already took.
