Help! My Friend’s Laptop Keeps Spamming Keys

A friend of mine is having a frustrating issue with their laptop that's been spamming keys. They handed it over to me to see if I can figure out what's wrong or maybe even fix it. I've spent the last two days troubleshooting, but I've come up empty-handed. I did try using an external keyboard, which worked fine initially, but the laptop still had the same problem. I even uninstalled the laptop's keyboard drivers, hoping that would help. For a little while, it seemed okay, but then the spamming started again after about 15 minutes. I'm out of ideas, so I could really use any suggestions you might have!

If the problem persists even after disconnecting the internal keyboard, the issue might be related to the keyboard settings or a software problem. Have you checked for any keyboard-related software or updates? Sometimes, these malfunctions can be caused by driver issues rather than hardware.

It sounds like it could be an issue with the laptop's built-in keyboard. A good first step is to completely disconnect the laptop keyboard and see if using only the external keyboard resolves the problem. There's about a 90% chance the internal keyboard has a defect or something's stuck. If it works fine with just the external one, you might need to replace the laptop keyboard.
