I'm helping my friend with his new PC build, but we're running into a frustrating issue. After installing Windows, the system fails to boot and just shows a black screen. The orange VGA error code lights up on the motherboard, which is puzzling. Here's a quick rundown of the build: it includes a 9800X3D processor, a Sapphire 9070XT graphics card, an Asus B-650 motherboard, and a 2TB M.2 NVME drive, with no additional drives.
I've built about 10 PCs over the last decade and never faced a problem like this. Initially, everything seemed fine as we were able to access the BIOS without any issues. I used a Windows 10 installation flash drive, set the boot priority to that, and proceeded to install Windows. After selecting the NVME drive as the boot drive and creating no partitions, the computer restarts, the VGA light turns orange, and the screen goes black. The only way to regain control is to force a shutdown and reset the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery.
We've even tried removing the GPU and using the integrated graphics, but the same black screen appears. I had to leave, but I mentioned that he should attempt a fresh Windows 11 install and check for a BIOS update. I'll keep you guys updated once he tries these solutions. Any ideas or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

You should definitely test the GPU in your friend's rig just to rule out any issues with that specific component. Sometimes it's the little things!
