Last night, I accidentally got my Galaxy Z Fold 4 wet while washing my face—it wasn't fully submerged but got splashed from the faucet. After drying it as best as I could, it was still turning on. It did warn me about water in the charging port, which I totally understood, so I didn't charge it. I left it standing up overnight, hoping the water would drain out. This morning, everything seemed fine until about 20 minutes later when the screen suddenly went black and I noticed a faint burning smell. Now it won't turn on at all, and I'm panicking because I have some important data on it that's not backed up. Is there any chance the battery is just dried out, and could it be repaired instead of replaced?

Sorry to hear that! It sounds like the moisture may have caused a short circuit. For future wet accidents, the first thing to do is power off the phone to prevent any further damage. If your phone isn’t turning on now, there might be some severe internal damage. As for repairs, it's best to take it to a professional rather than trying to fix it yourself. They may be able to assess if the battery can be saved or if the whole device needs replacing. Good luck!
Do you think a repair shop would be able to recover any of the data before replacing it?
