Help! My Gaming PC Has Been Struggling with Performance Issues

Hey everyone, I'm not the best with tech stuff, so I could really use some advice. A while back, I bought my first pre-built PC, which comes with a Ryzen 7 2700X and a 3070. Lately, I've been wanting to upgrade it because 'The Finals' game wasn't running smoothly. I found a fairly priced 3080 on Facebook Marketplace and got a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, as I couldn't get my hands on a 5800X3D. Since I got this setup, I've run into quite a few issues: random blue screens, my PC turning off unexpectedly, weird ticking noises from the AMD CPU fan, and two RAM slots just not working at all. While I managed to fix those issues, I'm still having problems with 'The Finals'. No matter if I set it to Epic, Medium, or Low settings, it still struggles to run. The temperatures stay below 75°C, with my GPU hitting 60-70% usage while my CPU fluctuates between 70-99% and the frame rates drop significantly. However, since AMD's frame generation update, the game does perform better, but the response times have increased. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Here are my specs:

- Pre-built: Asus ROG Strix G15DK
- GPU: EVGA 3080
- CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X3D
- RAM: DDR4 Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz and 3600MHz running at 3200MHz

I'll check the motherboard name later since I often forget it. Any help would be appreciated!

What do the CPU percentages you mentioned represent? Are those usage stats or temperatures? Because if your CPU usage is really fluctuating that much while gaming, it could definitely affect your framerates, particularly if it's hitting the upper limits.

Sounds like you've got quite a few potential culprits here. First off, make sure your power supply has enough wattage for your new hardware. The blue screens can be caused by multiple issues, like RAM, overheating, or even poor connections. Have you tried reseating your CPU and checking if all the pins are correctly in place? Also, double-check if your RAM sticks are properly seated in their slots. If the last two slots stopped working, maybe try using different RAM or adjusting your configuration. Sometimes overheating can happen even with normal temps if there’s an issue with thermal paste. Just a thought!

Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll definitely check the power supply wattage and make sure everything is seated properly. Could overheating still be an issue even with these temps?

If you're using frame generation, make sure to enable Nvidia Reflex—it’s supposed to reduce latency. However, you mentioned that you’ve tried that and it made response times worse, so it might not be compatible with your setup right now. Maybe try playing around with your graphics settings again; sometimes lowering them a bit can actually help performance more than just going for ultra settings.

I thought about that too but it still seems hit or miss. I’ll keep testing different settings. Thanks!
