Hey everyone, my girlfriend was attempting to run her PC in UEFI mode and disabled CSM. After restarting, her PC booted into an old Windows backup, and now her desktop looks completely different. It seems like her files are lost, and I'm wondering if this is because the drive isn't being recognized properly after switching off CSM. She's really upset about it, and I'm not sure what steps to take next to help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like her computer may be booting from an old Windows installation on a different drive. Try changing the boot priority in the BIOS to ensure it's looking at the drive with the correct Windows installation first.
It’s possible her files aren’t wiped. If she just added an old M.2 drive, that might explain the issue. You should check the BIOS to see if her SSD with the correct version of Windows is being recognized as a boot option.
Have you considered enabling CSM again? It might help.
Yeah, we tried that, but it just booted into the basic Windows startup again and we still can't find her files.
