Help! My GPU Doesn’t Fit in the Motherboard Slot

I'm running into a problem while assembling my computer. I bought all the parts under some tricky circumstances and now that it's time to install the GPU, I'm finding that it doesn't seem to fit. The GPU looks longer than the motherboard's GPU slot, and it appears that the slot is shorter than the GPU itself. I have a Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX V2 motherboard and an ASUS GeForce RTX 5060 Dual OC 8GB GDDR7 GPU. What should I do?

You probably chose the wrong slot. Make sure to read the manual and maybe check out some videos for guidance.

The slot will definitely be shorter than the actual GPU. Remember, the PCIe pins don’t extend the full length of the card. Just be careful while inserting it!

Don’t stress about the length; that’s typical. Just ensure that the connector on the GPU is lining up with the slot on the motherboard. It should fit, but check that the I/O plate isn’t getting caught on the motherboard edge.

You might just be putting it in the wrong slot. It’s a standard PCIe 16x connection, so that shouldn't be an issue. If it's not fitting, double-check to ensure the rubber cover hasn't been left on.
