Help! My i9-14900K is Crashing Apps on Windows 11—No Errors Show Up

I'm having a frustrating issue with my i9-14900K CPU on Windows 11. Most games crash within 5 to 10 minutes after I start them, and I've noticed that other applications, like the NVIDIA app, Ableton, and even Chrome, crash too—without any error messages popping up. I ran a stress test on the CPU, and it came back fine. I also swapped out my 32 GB RAM to see if it was the issue, but no luck there either. It feels like it could be either a software or a hardware glitch. I've done some digging online and got the impression it might be linked to the CPU itself. I even reinstalled Windows 11 yesterday, but the problem persists. Here are my specs: I'm running Microsoft Windows 11 with an Intel i9-14900K CPU, 32 GB of RAM, on a TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard, and using an EVGA RTX 3060 GPU. My BIOS version is from February 21, 2024, and I have an MSI 1000 Gold PSU. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

It sounds like your CPU might be having stability issues, especially since you're using a new generation processor. My first suggestion would be to update your BIOS to the latest version to help address any degradation problems. Even if it might not solve your current issues, it ensures things don't get worse. Also, you should rerun tests with OCCT and check out the RAM using Memtest86. Just to rule out any memory problems.

Thanks for the tip! Before I reinstalled Windows, I was getting a '7-Zip: CRC failed' error when updating my GPU driver. I think there were some corrupted temporary files, which led me to reinstall. Now that I’ve done that, the crashes are happening nonstop, but they were less frequent before. I’m using an M.2 SSD—could that be part of the problem?

I've just tried a CPU test in OCCT, but it immediately crashed my system with a blue screen error: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, which was pointing to ntoskrnl.exe. What do you think could be causing that?
