Help! My Intel i7 12700K Is Overheating Like Crazy!

Hey everyone! I'm experiencing some serious overheating issues with my Intel i7 12700K, and I could really use your advice. Here are my specs: I've got a 12th gen i7 12700K (12 cores: 8 performance and 4 efficiency), an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 for my GPU, an MSI MPG Z690 motherboard, Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR5 RAM, an SPCC SSD for storage, an Enermax Liqmax III 360 AIO cooler, housed in an NZXT H710i case, and I'm running a Corsair RM850x power supply. I built this setup in 2022. I've always kept my graphics driver updated, but I'm having a tough time figuring out how to update the BIOS. The MSI instructional video for it was a bust!

I've reapplied thermal paste, and I even moved the AIO from the side of the case to the top, which I read was more optimal, but I'm still seeing no improvement. My CPU temp at idle is around 60°C, which used to be between 30-40°C. When I do medium to high-demand tasks, it shoots up to over 85-100°C. The tubes on my AIO seem to have some movement, the pump is quiet, but the cold tube is about room temperature while the hot tube is very hot. I'm not super tech-savvy, and I've spent a ton of time looking for a solution. Should I just get a new AIO cooler? If so, what do you recommend?

Dude, if you recently moved, that could be a factor too! Make sure everything is properly seated—especially the AIO. Small movements can mess things up, even if you cushioned it well!

What monitor resolution are you playing at? It could impact performance significantly. Just curious about which monitor you’re using!

First, check your AIO fan curves. Make sure they're set up for optimal cooling. Also, double-check your case airflow—good airflow is crucial, though I honestly wouldn't expect a 20°C drop just from that. What do you think changed when you saw your idle temps jump from 40 to 60°C?
