Help! My Intel NUC is Running at 100°C – What’s Going On?

Hey everyone, I'm having a serious issue with my Intel NUC (9th gen). It's running at a scorching 100 degrees Celsius (212 degrees Fahrenheit), which is definitely not normal. The only thing that's running on it right now is a hardware monitor. I've already tried reinstalling Windows and even switched to Arch Linux, so I know this has to be a hardware problem. Check out this image for reference: https://imgur.com/a/5rEz82G. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Just a heads up, if you’re asking others to look up specs for you, it might help to provide them yourself. It ensures people are giving you accurate advice based on your model!

Fair point! I just struggle to find the right info sometimes.

It sounds like a hardware issue for sure. The first things you should check are if the fan is spinning and if the thermal paste is still good. If the thermal paste has dried up, it won’t transfer heat properly. You might need to open it up and take a look, even if it seems daunting!

I get that disassembling an Intel NUC isn't for everyone, but it might be the only way to fix it. Just make sure you watch some tutorials first!
