I recently switched to Kubuntu from Ubuntu, and I've been facing issues with certain apps crashing and receiving "Memory Shortage Avoided" alerts. I never encountered these problems on Ubuntu. It seems like most of the crashing apps are Flatpak apps—could that be related to the issue?

I’d suggest checking out the migration page for specific tips regarding your transition from Ubuntu to Kubuntu. Sometimes new settings or configurations may help resolve app issues!
Could you share your system specs, like your RAM and Kubuntu version? That info could help us troubleshoot better. What apps are you using?
You might want to try increasing your swap space or enabling zswap/zram to help manage memory better. Also, since you're using Kubuntu 25, it could be that Flatpak apps aren't fully compatible yet. How much RAM do you have?
I have 8GB on my laptop. I didn’t have any issues with crashing on other distros, and I think I was on Ubuntu 24 before switching.
It’s possible that Wayland might be causing some compatibility issues with Flatpak apps. You could try switching to X11 instead.
