After a lengthy installation of the latest Windows update, my laptop seems to have lost the ability to detect any Wi-Fi networks, except for Wi-Fi extenders. I've tried uninstalling the update, but that didn't fix the problem. Does anyone have suggestions for resolving this connectivity issue?

It sounds like your Wi-Fi adapter might be stuck on a single frequency band, which could prevent it from seeing certain networks. First, check if it can still detect those networks by accessing the adapter settings. If you're seeing only range extenders and missing your usual networks, try making sure it's set to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. You can also try 'forgetting' any known networks and reconnecting to them with the password. That might help reset any glitches.
I had the same issue! Resetting the adapter worked for me. Just go to network settings and click on 'Reset network settings'—might be worth a try!
